Baked Chicken Tenders

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts or tenders
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (panko or regular)
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • Cooking spray

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it with cooking spray.
  2. Prepare the Chicken: If using chicken breasts, cut them into strips about 1 inch wide to create tenders.
  3. Set Up Breading Station:
    • In one shallow bowl, add the flour.
    • In a second shallow bowl, beat the eggs.
    • In a third shallow bowl, combine the breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper.
  4. Bread the Chicken:
    • First, dredge each chicken strip in the flour, shaking off any excess.
    • Next, dip the floured chicken strip into the beaten eggs, ensuring it is fully coated.
    • Finally, roll the chicken strip in the breadcrumb mixture, pressing gently to adhere the crumbs.
  5. Arrange on Baking Sheet: Place the breaded chicken tenders on the prepared baking sheet in a single layer, making sure they do not touch.
  6. Spray with Cooking Spray: Lightly spray the tops of the chicken tenders with cooking spray. This will help them become crispy and golden brown.
  7. Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the chicken tenders are cooked through and the coating is crispy and golden. The internal temperature of the chicken should reach 165°F (74°C).
  8. Cool and Serve: Allow the chicken tenders to cool for a few minutes before serving. Serve with your favorite dipping sauces such as ketchup, honey mustard, or ranch dressing.

These Baked Chicken Tenders are a beloved kid-friendly recipe because they are crispy, flavorful, and easy to eat. Plus, baking them makes them a healthier option compared to frying. Enjoy!
