Chocolate Chip Cookie

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups chocolate chips

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth and creamy.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until well combined.
  6. Stir in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed throughout the dough.
  7. Drop tablespoon-sized balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
  9. Cool the cookies on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
  10. Enjoy these homemade chocolate chip cookies with a glass of milk or as a sweet treat!

Tips:

  • Let the butter soften at room temperature for easier creaming.
  • Allow kids to help measure ingredients, mix the dough, and place cookie dough on the baking sheets (with supervision).
  • Store leftover cookies in an airtight container for up to a week (if they last that long!).
